What we do:
We breed and raise Pygora goats and French Angora rabbits for their wonderful fiber. We are presently working on becoming a Heritage Farm consisting of Guinea Hogs and a variety of heritage turkeys and chickens.
We breed the Pygora goat for their variety of fiber, the softness and the fact that the fiber does not coarsen with the goats age.
We decided on the French Angora rabbits due to the guard hair that is in the FA fiber. This guard fiber is the "bloom" that makes the angora yarn so exciting. The guard hair also helps to keep the fiber from matting so readily on the rabbit, a real plus!
I also share my love of processing fiber, spinning, weaving, felting, knitting, animal husbandry...You are more than welcome to come visit and see what it is all about! Please contact before coming, thank you.
